In a world that's rapidly evolving, executive leadership has undergone a transformation. We've shifted from the age of isolated, top-down leadership to an era of networked leadership that shapes not only organizations but entire communities and even governments. Traditional hierarchical models no longer suffice to meet the complex demands of today. True executive leadership now resides in cohesive, ‘centered’ teams who serve their organizations, communities, and all stakeholders. Our work is designed to equip executive leaders for this new era, fostering alignment, strategic thinking, capacity and health, and a deep sense of purpose.

Rising to a leadership role in today’s rapidly evolving environment is not easy and comes with complexities not felt in other roles. To lead others effectively, you must first learn and practice self-leadership—developing the resilience and mindset needed to navigate obstacles, while also inspiring, aligning, and mobilizing collaborative teams in an ever-changing workplace. Our research shows us that one of the key differences between those who succeed and those who fail is that successful individuals know their true selves and are not entangled in misaligned influences. They understand the critical importance of aligning personal directions / actions, individual leader development, and technical competencies with personal convictions to generate a greater sense of motivation, fulfillment, and garner performance.

This work is dynamic and designed to challenge the emerging leader to better recognize how actions and decisions influence the performance of those around them. Through the lenses of science and practical experience these leaders will explore key aspects of developing two aspects of leadership: self-leadership, and leading others.

I highly recommend and appreciate the work of Gratia Foundation. Lockett Stewart and the team have been true partner to us - not just in terms of curriculum design, sustainability plans and character/leadership development but overall friendship. Through our most trying times Gratia has showed up for us. Very few people/organizations genuinely care, Gratia cares. They are unafraid to meet you in the trenches and do the work of serving others

Ian Elmore-Moore

Executive Director & Owner, Noble Truth Project Inc. and Glaciers Italian Ice

Working with the Gratia Foundation has taken leadership from a two-dimensional to four-dimensional experience. Elevating the conversations and perspectives to include the human-centered perspectives needed for effective and long-term success in leadership has been invaluable to me personally and will yield fruit in our organization in time. I can not recommend enough the time spent going below the waterline to get to the why for greater purpose and ultimately greater impact.

Our Approach to Leadership Development

A Human-Centric and Holistic Approach to Developing Leaders

Developing people, young or old, is an intensely personal experience, even when there is a large group involved. Our real-world approach helps the participant address the reality of their situation, within the context of their environment, aligning personal direction with their achievement of actual life (and organizational) objectives and personal convictions. The underlying learning platform not only utilizes business applications, but also behavioral, physiology, and social and personality sciences, practical applications, and large experiences to affect a long term, positive impact on the communities we serve and those who participate.

TO SUSTAIN HIGH PERFORMANCE, PEOPLE MUST BUILD THE CAPACITY TO LEARN AND KEEP CHANGING OVER TIME.

To do this right, aligning to the precepts of how the body and brain work, and to remain in the context of the participant’s world, we utilize a biopsychosocial approach at the core of our approach that incorporates a sequenced multi-experience that integrates both individual and shared contextual exploration with reflection and application - a dynamic combination that amplifies individual learning within the context of the participant’s life. Our modes of development include a blended learning/teaching approach utilizing an experiential learning model aligned with periodic reinforcements to ensure sustained behavioral adoption. This work is contextual, collaborative, and dynamic; but above all else, it is actionable.

TOO OFTEN WHAT WE DO DRIVES HOW WE THINK; INSTEAD OF WHAT WE THINK DRIVING WHAT WE DO.

People today face such rapidly escalating complexity, uncertainty, and volatility in their life that to stay competitive and forward moving they must accelerate the pace of their own development to match or exceed the pace of change in their life. Developing people, especially leaders who can navigate complexity is now a strategic priority — and, if done well, a competitive advantage for those people and a value for those around them. To sustain high performance over their lives, people must build the capacity to learn and keep changing over time and to find meaning and purpose in their life.
